McBee-Horner
People fascinate me. I thrive on talking with them, listening to their stories, stepping into their world—if only for a moment. I enjoy bringing to our clients, by way of the moving image, the richness of the life around them and around their products or services and the people who are touched by them. In the age of Broadband, the Internet is the current frontier and to forge new paths on its prairieland excites me. Over two decades ago, I received a film degree from an up and coming film department at the University of Texas--Austin (think Rodriquez and Linklater). Connections from that early schoolwork moved me to New York City where I produced countless low-budget shorts, some nitty-gritty features and a few too many commercials. Working for commercial production companies such as Broadcast Arts (remember MTV’s original stomping “M” animation?) gave me a valuable education in the concept of art merging with commerce. Not long after meeting my Berkeley-native husband, I loaded up all of my belongings and 2 cats in the back of a Ford F150 pick-up and traveled cross-country. Landing in the San Francisco area, I continued to work on commercials and documentaries and eventually became Head of Production at Red Sky Films where I got a taste for the unlimited possibilities of the internet from being in close proximity to a spunky group of kids known as Red Sky Interactive. For the next 10 years, I continued to work on commercials, corporate videos and award winning documentaries. Yet, my most valued and harrowing accomplishment: my two daughters. Mothering, filming and editing keep this house a happy, if not crazed, home.
